Shadow Days and Hands-On Days

ClaraDerma Academy Experiential Learning

After graduating from the ClaraDerma Academy Master Medical Aesthetician Essentials program, trainees can register for an experiential practicum: Shadow Days or Hands-on Days (Multiple options for purchase). They receive support in facial assessment, skin typing, and procedure selection. Theory, trends, and the rationale behind techniques are reviewed. Students must provide patients and travel to ClaraDerma+, where clinic supplies are provided. Shadowing shifts allow trainees to observe patient treatments, consultations, and discussions with Medical Aestheticians, offering valuable insights despite no hands-on practice.

Participating in these days can significantly enhance your practical skills, build your confidence, and provide you with a deeper understanding of the day-to-day operations of a medical aesthetician. This experience is invaluable as you transition into your professional career.

By addressing these common questions, you can provide potential participants with the information they need to make an informed decision about purchasing a shadowing or a hands-on practice day.

Hands-On Days - Two Days

Experiential Learning

Trainees are supported in facial assessment, skin typing and procedure selection. Theory is reviewed along with trends and most importantly, why certain techniques and procedures are used based on the unique patient skin type and desired results. Patients must be provided by the student and travel to ClaraDerma+. All clinic products and supplies will be provided. Please ensure the following mix of patients: 1 Microdermabrasion/Facial patient; 1 Chemical Peel patient; 1 IPL patient (Rosacea or Hyper-Pigmentation); 1 Laser Hair Removal patient; 1 Microneedling/RF Microneedling patient.

Shadowing - One Day

Shadowing shifts allow Medical Aestheticians to spend a day with the ClaraDerma Medical Aesthetics team and be their shadow. This includes seeing patient treatments and consultations and the opportunity to ask questions and hear Medical Aestheticians talk through each patient procedure. Although there is no hands-on training for the trainee on this day, having the opportunity to see treatments, hear why specific procedures were selected, discuss product choices, and ask questions makes a world of difference.
